On Monday 16th March the government announced that unnecessary social contact should be avoided, and that theatres (along with other public spaces) should be avoided. The safety of our customers, volunteers and staff is paramount, and in light of this announcement it is with a heavy heart that we have closed the Fisher Theatre with immediate effect, until we receive further instruction that it is safe to reopen.
All shows in March and April have been cancelled or postponed and customers who have already booked tickets will be contacted.
The situation regarding shows in May will be monitored and updates posted on our Website and Facebook pages.
Thank you for your support of the Fisher Theatre and your understanding at this difficult time.
Set in a grammar school in Stockport, the six teenage characters we meet are about to take their mock A’ levels. Stress is in the air when a new girl, Lilly Cahill joins the year group. Relationships seem strained but exciting, cruel and passionate, experimental and full of need, and they welcome her in. Most of them are expecting good, if not amazing results, but there are more important things to try out. What does pressure, expectation and moving towards adult responsibilities do to young people, even privileged ones? Is growing-up actually not far-off splitting the atom? Impressive contemporary theatre brought to you by the FYTG seniors from an exciting British playwright.
