Remarkable Journeys of the Second World War

"This collection of World War Two memories is a gem"

Jonathan Dimbleby

Returning to The Fisher Theatre after her sell-out event in February (Six Weeks of Blenheim Summer) author Victoria Panton Bacon will read extracts from her latest book, Remarkable Journeys of the Second World War, published by The History Press.

Eleven untold accounts of veterans, young men and women of the time between 1939 and 1945 are related with music of the day, played by William Drew-Batty (the local ‘Posh Busker’ and composer).

Signed copies of the book will also be available to purchase.

"As the Second World War passes from living memory, Victoria Panton Bacon presents an extraordinary cast of characters who reveal what it was like to take part in the fight for freedom. Their stories are exciting, heart-breaking and vitally important."

RoughCast revive their first ever Christmas show, Charles Dickens’ A Christmas Carol, as a staged reading for a small ensemble, echoing the famous solo renditions by the author himself that wowed audiences in Victorian times.

The story of the reclamation of that self-confessed  ”Humbug”  Ebenezer Scrooge never fails to delight audiences of all ages with its colourful cast of famous characters both real and ghostly.
